Business Opportunity: Cannabis Odor Control Technology

Anyone that has cultivated cannabis will tell you that it is one of the most rewarding activities they have ever done.

Whether it’s for personal use or for commercial purposes, cultivating cannabis can be a very fun endeavor.

The cannabis plant is one of the most visually beautiful plants on earth.

However, it is also one of the stinkiest plants on Earth.

Smells that emanate from the cannabis plant are causing an issue in legal markets around the globe.

For science-savvy entrepreneurs, solving that issue could result in significant financial gain.

Cannabis and Smell

When people purchase cannabis, one major factor that they should be basing their purchasing decision on is the smell of the cannabis flower.

The cannabis plant is composed of various terpenes that give the cannabis plant its smell.

The smellier the cannabis, the higher the quality due to the flower being terpene-rich.

Cannabis is one of the most dynamic plants found in nature, and that is demonstrated in the variety of smells that the cannabis plant can put out into the air.

Some cannabis plants smell fruity, others smell earthy, some smell skunky, etc. The smell of cannabis can be very desirable to consumers.

However, not everyone likes the smell of cannabis. As a cannabis plant matures, the smell that it creates gets stronger.

Large-scale cannabis cultivation facilities can create a tremendous amount of odor.

While there are current technologies that can mitigate the odor to some extent, the technology can certainly be improved.

Opportunity is knocking for innovators that can improve cannabis odor control technology and methods.

The Wine Lobby Will Continue to Push Back

One of the biggest complainers about the odor that is generated by large cannabis gardens is the wine industry.

Wine grapes are not cultivated around the world, however, in the parts where they are cultivated, the grapes are revered.

Just as with cannabis, a lot goes into cultivating wine grapes, and any little change in the ecosystem could drastically change the final product.

That includes smell.

A growing list of wineries around the planet have claimed that the overwhelming odor from nearby cannabis gardens are changing the smell and flavor of their wines.

Whether that is actually the case or not is still up in the air, however, the wine industry is massive and possesses great influence when it comes to public policy, so it’s a concern that cannot be ignored.

Controlling cannabis odor is not going to be an easy thing to find a suitable solution for, especially with outdoor gardens.

However, for anyone that can effectively do it, the financial reward will be significant.
