UC Berkeley opens new cannabis research center - Cannabis News

The University of California at Berkeley has a new research center focused on studying the social and environmental impacts of cannabis production.

The multidisciplinary Cannabis Research Center will "advance understanding of cannabis agriculture in socio-ecological systems at local, national, and global scales."

The center, led by co-directors Van Butsic and Ted Grantham, plans to put the state's budding cannabis industry under the microscope. The researchers' three main areas include policy and regulation, environmental impacts and cannabis-producing communities.
