The Farm Bill of 2014 legalized industrial hemp at the federal level. As a result, every state has the right to set up industrial hemp pilot programs through universities and/or the state’s department of agriculture.

Thus far, only 30 states have taken advantage of the right that was granted them in the Farm Bill.
