Recreational Marijuana Available At Oregon Dispensaries In October

SALEM, Ore. — Governor Kate Brown signed a bill on Tuesday that will allow adults 21 and over to temporarily buy recreational marijuana at established medical pot dispensaries starting on October 1st, nearly a full year sooner than expected.

The Oregon Senate and House approved an amendment in June that allows the purchase of a quarter ounce of dried weed, seeds and plant starts, but not edibles.

Sales will be allowed at dispensaries until the state begins licensing retail licenses stores in about a year.

The law approved by voters last November allowing personal use and possession took affect on July 1st, but there was no place to legally buy it.
