The election is still a ways off, but one state has legalized pot already in 2018.

Vermont made history back in January by becoming the first state to ever pass a recreational cannabis law through the legislature – as opposed to putting it up for a popular vote.

And there are almost a dozen states that are slated to have cannabis legislation on the ballot in November.
